To do it, find and replace in both Skyrim.ini found inside the /Documents/My Games/Skyrim and Skyrim_default.ini found inside the main game folder. They are there to force the textures and then will override any textures mod you may put in the future which don't have ESPs (for, repeating, they aren't necessary unless the objects themselves need special reference). It's not common indeed and should not happen.Īnyway, even so you may want to get rid of these ESPs at once for they are awkward and unnecessary in this case. Lets assume you have not plugin like mods too, like ENB series, FXAA and stuff (what should not give you these CTDs anyway). My issue is it runs fine from a fresh install with the hd pack and mods i downloaded from steam workshop.īut as soon as i do the Ini tweak so i can disable the HD pack ESP's and use other textures mods from the nexus my game can't even get past the part where you are on the cart on the way to getting your head chopped off. This smell like a dead fish to me.The mods i download from steam works fine but the one's from Skyrim nexus doesn't.Įver since i downloaded that blasted HD pack the mods i downloaded from this website no longer function well.Is there anyway that i can play without the HD pack?Įdited by Logik729, 11 February 2012 - 11:47 AM.

Very Frustrated at the moment and i tried every fix out there. I am having almost similar issues as well. I do not lag/Freeze/CTD normally running the game on Ultra, but for some reason this Tex pack is going insane on me. I have a Sapphire Radeon 5770 Vapor-X Graphics Card, with 4GB of DDR2 RAM, a 750 Watt PSU and something like 2.66 GH/z dual-core CPU or something like that. If I disable the High-Res Texture Pack the game runs fine.

I have NO mods/esm's/esp's at all except for the High-Res Texture Pack and of course the main Skyrim game.Īfter a few seconds of play on a BRAND NEW game, I crash to desktop with no errors, warning, lag or anything.
